Svatoshyn District

"A fire broke out in an uninhabited building in the Svatoshyn district," - reported Klitschko.

The Kyiv City Military Administration clarified that debris fell onto a non-residential building in the Svatoshyn district of the capital. A local fire broke out, damaging vehicles and garages.

According to the city mayor, as a result of the attack, windows were shattered in a residential building near the garages where the fire occurred. The tram tracks were also partially damaged.

As the mayor of the capital stated, the tram tracks were damaged within 100 meters of the tram depot. Additionally, windows in three trams were broken.

According to the Kyiv City Military Administration at 12:30, the tracks of the high-speed tram in Borshchahivka, which were damaged during the enemy attack, have been repaired. Tram services have resumed.

Pechersk District

In the Pechersk district of Kyiv, debris fell in several locations. As noted by Klitschko, a fire broke out on the roof of a residential building. The mayor reported partial destruction of the top two floors of a residential building in Pechersk.

According to the Kyiv City Military Administration, the 6th to 4th floors of a six-story residential building were partially destroyed, leading to a fire in apartments on the 4th and 5th floors. The fire was contained over an area of 70 square meters. An evacuation of residents is underway, with one woman rescued.

There is also information about debris falling on a neighboring non-residential building in the Pechersk district. A fire erupted on the roof, covering an area of 80 square meters. The State Emergency Service reports that 75 rescuers and 19 units of firefighting equipment are working at the scene.

Andriy Yermak, head of the President's Office, stated that Russian occupiers deliberately targeted the center of Kyiv on New Year's Eve.

"Preliminary information indicates that buildings in the center of Kyiv were attacked by at least four 'Shaheds.' All details are being promptly investigated by law enforcement and experts," Yermak noted.

Fire in the NBU Building

The National Bank of Ukraine reported that a fire occurred on the roof of one of the NBU buildings in the Pechersk district due to falling debris from Russian drones.

Rescuers extinguished the fire, and there are no casualties. Windows on the upper floors were damaged.

"All operational systems and services of the National Bank are functioning fully, without changes," the NBU stated.

Injuries and Fatalities

As of 8:25, three people were reported injured in Pechersk. Two of them were hospitalized.

Updated at 9:05. Klitschko announced that the number of injured has risen to four. Two injured individuals have been hospitalized. Medical assistance was provided to two others on-site. Most of the injured are from the Pechersk district.

Updated at 9:35. According to the mayor, there are now six injured in Kyiv. Two of them have been hospitalized, and four received assistance on-site, including a pregnant woman.

Meanwhile, the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, Timur Tkachенко, reports five injured, with two hospitalized.

Updated at 11:35. The Kyiv City Military Administration reported that the body of a deceased woman was found under the rubble of a building in Pechersk. According to the Office of the Prosecutor General, the number of injured has risen to seven, including two pregnant women.

Updated at 12:30. The number of fatalities has increased to two.

New Year's Drone Attack

On New Year's Eve, Russian occupiers attacked Ukraine with drones. Enemy drones were detected in Sumy, Kyiv, Chernihiv, Zhytomyr, Poltava, Cherkasy, Kharkiv, Kirovohrad, Dnipropetrovsk, Khmelnytskyi, and Rivne regions.

On the morning of January 1, air defense forces were active in Kyiv, and explosions were heard.
