Ukrainian doctor Yevgeny Komarovsky explained the different types of grains and why some are healthier than others.

In a recent video on his YouTube channel, Dr. Komarovsky addressed questions related to the ranking of grains, their composition, the concept of fiber, and where it can be found.

When we discuss which porridge is the healthiest, our goal is to provide energy for ourselves and our loved ones while obtaining a certain amount of beneficial substances necessary for growth and development. This includes not only carbohydrates for energy but also proteins, micronutrients, vitamins, and typically micronutrients.

These nutrients are found in the grain's husk; the less husk there is and the more processed the grain is, the lower the fiber content.

It turns out that buckwheat ranks first in all parameters; it is a traditional food for us, which is wonderful.

Buckwheat is excellent, as it contains a lot of iron and protein.

Oatmeal comes in second place, but its benefits or harms depend significantly on how it is processed. Instant oatmeal, which is simply soaked in water to prepare, is arguably the least beneficial type, while the healthy option is the kind that requires prolonged cooking.

In third place in Dr. Komarovsky's ranking of healthy grains is pearl barley, which is very nutritious and rich in proteins, iron, and especially fiber!

Fiber is a component of foods that effectively cleanses the intestines.

In fourth place is millet, and in fifth place in the ranking of healthy porridge is corn.
