In the center of Kharkiv, as a result of an enemy airstrike on the evening of October 28, the building of the State Industry (Gosprom), a medical facility, and other administrative buildings were damaged. Footage of the aftermath of Russian shelling in the central part of the city has emerged.
This information was reported by RBK-Ukraine citing the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SES) and National Police, as well as the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleg Synegubov.
In total, it has been reported that as a result of the enemy shelling in Kharkiv, 8 people were injured (five men and three women), including a police officer who was on duty. Prior to this, information about five injured civilians was known.
"All the injured are in mild to moderate condition," law enforcement officials reported.
However, at 00:38, the National Police clarified that according to updated information, the number of injured in the city has risen to nine people (including the police officer).
It is noted that for the strikes around 21:00 on the Shevchenkivskyi district of Kharkiv, the enemy used guided aerial bombs (FAB) with UMPC. According to the head of the Main Department of the National Police in Kharkiv region, Volodymyr Tymoshko, the Russian army dropped approximately 3 KABs (UABs) on the city of Kharkiv and the Kharkiv region in the evening.

"A direct hit was recorded at the building of the State Industry. This is a national heritage monument, a building in the style of constructivism," the head of the Regional Military Administration stated.
The official emphasized that the Russian occupiers struck "a symbolic landmark of the city, known to every Kharkiv resident."
Reference: The House of State Industry (Gosprom) in Kharkiv is an architectural monument built between 1925 and 1928. The building is located in Freedom Square in the Shevchenkivskyi district of the city.
In 2017, the Gosprom building in Kharkiv was included in the preliminary list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Additionally, in September 2023, the organization also added this Kharkiv building to the list of sites for enhanced protection.

The attack resulted in damage to a medical facility and administrative buildings, including the Gosprom building.
"One of the bombs hit one of the entrances to the administrative building, which houses the court and other institutions. The KAB directly struck the office of one of the judges. This is an absolutely civilian object," Tymoshko noted.

It is also noted that investigators have opened criminal proceedings for violations of the laws and customs of war under part 1 of article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
