The permanent judge of the "Master Chef" show, Hector Jimenez-Bravo, shared on his Instagram page how to prepare Caribbean-style fish in just 20 minutes.
"Master Chef" Hector Jimenez-Bravo mentioned that this is the only way he enjoyed cooking fish in his childhood, and he still uses this recipe today because it is very simple, and the fish turns out incredibly tender and flavorful.
"In the classic recipe, a whole fish with bones is used, but you can opt for fillets if you prefer," explained "Master Chef" Hector Jimenez-Bravo.
To make Caribbean-style fish, "Master Chef" Hector Jimenez-Bravo uses the following ingredients: fish, 1 onion, a small bunch of green onions, 1 tomato, 1 bell pepper, olive oil, salt, cumin, and lemon juice. Precise measurements are not necessary here.
Hector Jimenez-Bravo simply cleans the fish, rinses it, and cuts it into several pieces, leaving the head and bones intact.
First, the fish needs to be marinated. For this, "Master Chef" Hector Jimenez-Bravo adds salt, lemon juice, and cumin, mixes it, and lets it marinate while preparing the sauce.
Chop the onion, tomato, bell pepper, and garlic into small pieces and sauté them in a preheated pan with a little vegetable oil. Add salt, sprinkle in the cumin, and cook until done.
Add the marinated fish to the pan with the vegetable sauce, reduce the heat, and cook for about five minutes on each side. Garnish the finished Caribbean-style fish with herbs and enjoy.
