In Odessa, the Security Service of Ukraine, in collaboration with the National Police, has uncovered an FSB agent network from Russia. This group consisted of three local residents who were planning a series of explosions and arson attacks in various regions of Ukraine.
This information was reported by RBK-Ukraine, citing the press service of the SBU.
The criminals were specifically preparing a large-scale terrorist attack with numerous casualties in the southern part of the country.
The investigation revealed that the suspects had already executed one explosion in Kyiv. In mid-November, a 17-year-old member of the group planted explosives near the building of a government agency. The device, filled with nails and screws, was activated remotely. After the explosion, law enforcement documented his actions, which helped identify the accomplices and dismantle the network.
The perpetrator was hiding in rented apartments in Kyiv before returning to Odessa to organize new attacks. He was caught "in the act" while attempting to purchase chemical components for making explosives.
Two accomplices - a 15-year-old and a 20-year-old from Odessa - were also arrested. They were involved in arson attacks on Ukrposhta branches in Odessa and Mykolaiv.
The investigation showed that all three were coordinated by a Russian handler, whom they found through Telegram channels offering "easy earnings." The criminals coordinated their terrorist plans and manufactured explosive devices according to his instructions.
Currently, the group members have been informed of their suspicion under Articles 258 (terrorist act) and 194 (intentional damage to property) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
Two of the suspects are in custody, while the issue of the minor's responsibility is being resolved. They face up to 10 years in prison with property confiscation.
