I prepared a stash for a sabotage and reconnaissance group. The Security Service of Ukraine exposed a Russian intelligence agent network in Kharkiv.

The Security Service of Ukraine has neutralized an intelligence group of the Russian military intelligence (GRU) that was operating in Kharkiv. They were establishing caches with RGD-5 grenades and money on the outskirts of the city, creating "reserves" for other agents and saboteurs from Russia.

This was reported by RBK-Ukraine referring to the press service of the SBU.

Under the instructions of Russian handlers, the caches were primarily set up in forested areas, with their coordinates communicated via messengers. Additionally, the group was gathering intelligence on the locations of Defense Forces bases, conducting reconnaissance in specific areas occupied by the invaders.

The group consisted of two former employees of the disbanded special unit "Berkut" and the wife of one of them, all residents of Kharkiv. The organizer of the activities turned out to be a former "berkutovets" who had previously fled to Russia and began working for its intelligence services.

The SBU preemptively uncovered the conspiracy, documented the crimes, and detained three participants in Kharkiv. During searches, mobile phones were seized containing evidence of cooperation with the GRU, as well as ammunition.

The defendants have been charged under several articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, specifically for treason committed in a state of martial law by prior agreement (part 2 of article 28, part 2 of article 111) and illegal handling of ammunition (part 1 of article 263).

The perpetrators have been taken into custody. If found guilty, they face life imprisonment with confiscation of property.

Let us remind you that the SBU prevented a sabotage attempt by a Russian agent, who was trying to set fire to an electrical substation in the Kirovohrad region, which supplies energy to a military airfield and other strategic facilities in the area.

Earlier, the SBU uncovered a priest from one of the churches of the Kharkiv diocese of the UOC (MP), suspected of collaborating with Russian special services.
