On the night of February 11, drone forces, the Main Intelligence Directorate, and Special Operations Forces struck the Saratov Oil Refinery. This facility conducts comprehensive oil processing.
This was reported by RBK-Ukraine citing the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
According to the General Staff, the refinery primarily produces gasoline, fuel oil, and diesel fuel. However, it is capable of producing over 20 types of petroleum products. This enterprise is involved in supplying the Russian occupation army.
"Confirmation of the hit has been received. A fire has erupted at the site. The results of the strike are being clarified. Attacks on strategic facilities involved in supporting the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine will continue," the General Staff reported.
At the same time, the drone forces clarified that the Saratov Oil Refinery is one of the oldest enterprises in Russia. It is known as the "Cracking" plant and is part of the oil company "Rosneft." The designed capacity of the refinery is 7 million tons of oil per year.
"As a result of the drone attack, a fire broke out at the facility, and the governor of the Saratov region reported damage to the industrial site," the message stated.
Last night, explosions were heard in the Russian cities of Engels and Saratov. Residents are reporting a drone attack.
According to Saratov residents, after the explosions, a fire broke out near the local oil refinery.
It is worth noting that last night, unidentified drones attacked the Afipsky Oil Refinery in the Krasnodar Krai.
This refinery is one of the key oil processing plants in Russia, with a capacity of 6.25 million tons of oil per year.
