This was stated by U.S. President Joe Biden, as reported by RBK-Ukraine referencing the website of the White House.

The President mentioned that since early this morning, the leadership of federal law enforcement and his homeland security team have been updating him on the horrific incident that occurred overnight in New Orleans.

"The FBI is taking the lead on the investigation and is treating this incident as a terrorist act," Biden emphasized.

He also expressed gratitude for the brave and swift response of local law enforcement in preventing further casualties and injuries.

"I have directed my team to ensure that all resources are available as federal, state, and local law enforcement work diligently to quickly understand what happened and ensure that there is no remaining threat," the President stated.

Biden added that he would be receiving updates throughout the day and would provide more information as it becomes available.

"In the meantime, my heart goes out to the victims and their families, who were simply trying to celebrate the holiday. There is no justification for any violence, and we will not tolerate any attacks on any community in our nation," he concluded.
