Following the loss to Republican Donald Trump in the presidential elections, Kamala Harris's campaign manager, Jen O'Malley Dillon, urged her team to embark on a new mission — protecting America from the consequences of Trump's return to power.
In a message to her staff, reported by CNN, O'Malley Dillon emphasized that Harris's fight for democratic ideals is just beginning.
"Losing is very painful. It's hard. It will take a lot of time to get through this. But the work to protect America from the repercussions of Trump's presidency starts now," Dillon noted in her email to the team.
She stressed that while the election outcome was disappointing, Harris's campaign will not back down. According to her, the Vice President will continue to advocate for democratic values alongside Biden, even if she no longer holds a position in the White House.
Dillon also expressed gratitude to the team for their efforts, highlighting that despite the shift of U.S. political views to the right, they managed to limit the impact of this trend in several key states. However, she acknowledged that this challenge proved too great to secure victory in the elections.
The campaign manager emphasized that Harris will continue her efforts to counter potential negative effects of Trump's presidency while remaining committed to democratic principles and ensuring a peaceful transfer of power, in contrast to previous Republican actions.
