The Ukrainian Armed Forces will be trained for operations in extreme conditions according to a new standard, announced the Ministry of Defense.

Ukrainian military personnel will undergo training for operations in extreme conditions according to a new standard. They will be prepared in several areas.

This was reported by RBK-Ukraine citing the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

The agency stated that soldiers will learn to survive in various environments: arctic, tropical, mountainous, and desert regions. Special attention will be given to organizing search and rescue operations for the effective evacuation of isolated personnel.

Defenders will receive specialized training in the following key areas:

• search and rescue operations;
• survival;
• avoidance of capture;
• resilience in captivity;
• evacuation preparation;
• retraining.

"The risk of becoming isolated or carrying out combat tasks under difficult circumstances accompanies military service. Our goal is to equip soldiers with the necessary knowledge and prepare instructors who will help them endure these trials. At the same time, the implementation of such a standard brings us closer to NATO principles," noted Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Dmitry Klimenko.
