In the Kyiv region, a child was injured due to falling debris from shot-down Russian drones in one of the localities. Additionally, a fire occurred, which has already been contained.
This was reported by RBK-Ukraine, citing the acting head of the Kyiv regional military administration, Nikolai Kalashnikov.
The official clarified that the injured boy was born in 2012 and is suspected of having a concussion and a laceration on his thigh.
"He has been hospitalized. The child is receiving all necessary medical assistance," the head of the regional administration stated.
A fire also broke out in a café-store and an adjacent boiler room, covering an area of nearly 200 square meters.
"The fire has already been localized. The blast wave damaged the glazing of a neighboring house," the official mentioned in a statement on his Telegram channel.
He also urged residents of the Kyiv region not to ignore air raid signals and to stay in shelters until the all-clear is given.
As reported earlier, Russian occupiers launched several groups of strike drones against Ukraine on the evening of January 16 for yet another aerial assault.
At 22:45, due to the detection of enemy UAVs in the Kyiv region, air defense systems were activated. The region announced the cancellation of the air raid alert around half-past midnight on January 17.
Furthermore, earlier that day, debris from the shot-down enemy drones fell in five districts of Kyiv. Local authorities informed that there were no casualties or fires, but a vehicle and the facade of a building were damaged.
