The Russian forces are attempting to breach the defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine along the Oskol River, which could significantly impact the strategic situation in three regions: Kharkiv, Donetsk, and Luhansk.

This was reported by military analyst Konstantin Mashovets on his Telegram channel. According to the expert, the enemy has already begun implementing a two-phase operation in this section of the front.

фронт, война, техника

As Mashovets explains, the first phase of the enemy's operation involves a rapid and massive breakthrough by the 1st Tank Army of the Russian Federation towards the Oskol River. The objective of this maneuver is to cut off the northern part of the Ukrainian foothold on this river from the main southern part. The enemy is attempting to push Ukrainian forces out of the foothold in the northwest, simultaneously employing several divisions, including the 2nd Motorized Rifle and the 4th Tank divisions.

However, the main role in this phase is played by auxiliary forces - the 47th Tank Division, units of the 6th Combined Arms Army, and the 11th Army Corps. They are gradually pushing Ukrainian forces from the northern borders, creating conditions for the second phase of the operation.

фронт, война

The forthcoming second phase involves a simultaneous offensive by the enemy on several fronts aimed at encircling and eliminating Ukrainian forces in the northern part of the foothold. The completion of this phase should occur through the capture of Kupiansk-Uzlovoy and the left bank of Kupiansk.

At this stage, the 47th Tank Division and units of the 6th Combined Arms Army, supported by the 2nd Motorized Rifle Division, are expected to play a key role in the offensive actions. The enemy aims to organize an advance southward along the left bank of the Oskol River, which will allow them to develop the offensive towards Kramatorsk and Sloviansk.
