Germany plans to increase the number of shelters for the civilian population. This is due to the deteriorating situation regarding international security.

According to the publication, the Federal Office for Civil Protection and Disaster Assistance in the country aims to create more shelters in Germany. Specifically, a spokesperson for the Federal Ministry of the Interior stated that "there is currently an intention to develop key aspects of the shelter concept." He noted that "extensive coordination" is expected. Therefore, this process "will still take some time."
He mentioned that the goal of this decision is to identify which facilities are suitable for creating shelters.
Additionally, both public buildings and private premises should be equipped in the country.
At the beginning of September, an investigation was launched in Cologne, Germany, regarding a potential diversion at a NATO base that is crucial for logistics and support for Ukraine. The base facilitates the transportation of Ukrainian military personnel from Cologne to Poland.
