Russian forces struck Volchansk using the TOS-1A "Solntsepek" system.
The Russian army continues to carry out offensive operations along almost the entire front line. In particular, assaults have been recorded in the Kharkiv direction.

According to military sources, over the past day in the Kharkiv direction, the enemy conducted offensive actions in Volchansk and near Kazachya Lopani.
The Russians struck our positions in Volchansk using the heavy flamethrower system TOS-1A "Solntsepek". The enemy's attacks were repelled, and the tactical situation did not deteriorate.
Situation in Other Directions
In the Kupiansk direction the enemy stormed the defense forces' positions in the areas of Petropavlivka and Pyschane, while in the Lyman direction - near the settlements of Kopanky, Yampolivka, Pervomaiske, Makeivka, and Terny. The enemy did not achieve success.
In the Kramatorsk and Toretsk directions the enemy attacked the defense forces' positions in Chasiv Yar, Toretsk, and in the areas of Belyi Gora, Stupochky, and Shcherbynivka.
In the Pokrovsk direction the enemy conducted offensive operations in the areas of Yelyzavetivka, Lucha, Sukhy Yar, Zelenyi, Udan, Nadeivka, Yasenove, and Andriivka. Fighting continues in Lisovka, Shevchenko, Novovasyliivka, Yantarny, and Petropavlivka. The defense forces are successfully countering the enemy's attempts to leverage its numerical superiority and develop an offensive.
In the Novopavlivsk direction the enemy continues to accumulate forces for further attacks. Over these past 24 hours, it attacked our fortifications in the areas of Zelenivka, Neskuchne, Novoselka, and Vremivka: with no success.
TOS-1A "Solntsepek" is a heavy multiple launch rocket system that is in service with the Russian army. It is designed to defeat enemy personnel, equipment, fortifications, and to destroy infrastructure using thermobaric munitions. The basis of the system is a launcher mounted on a T-72 tank chassis, providing high mobility and protection from enemy fire.
The TOS-1A uses unguided rocket projectiles with thermobaric charges that create a powerful explosion and cause a large damage zone due to high temperature and shockwave. The effective range can reach several hundred meters, making "Solntsepek" extremely dangerous for fortified positions and personnel even in shelters. At the same time, the accuracy of this type of weapon is relatively low, which results in significant destruction and numerous civilian casualties.
During the hostilities in Ukraine, Russian troops actively employ "Solntsepek" to attack the fortified positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine; however, its effectiveness is reduced due to modern countermeasures from Ukrainian forces and the supply of Western air defense systems.
Volchansk Aggregate Plant
Earlier, we reported that on September 24, the Defense Forces announced that the soldiers of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine liberated the Volchansk Aggregate Plant from enemy soldiers.
According to the GUR, the soldiers engaged in close combat with Russian occupiers in densely built-up areas.
