According to GUR, Russia intended to launch offensives in at least two directions in 2024-2025, which ultimately did not materialize.

Ukrainian military intelligence has identified and thwarted Russia's plans for large-scale offensive operations in the latter half of 2024 and early 2025.
По данным ГУР, Россия намеревалась начать наступление как минимум в двух направлениях в 2024-2025 годах, но эти планы не были реализованы.

The Ukrainian military intelligence has uncovered and thwarted Russia's plans for large-scale offensive operations in the second half of 2024 and early 2025.

This was reported by Major General Vadym Skibitsky, Deputy Head of the GUR MO, in an interview with RBK-Ukraine.

According to him, the coordinated efforts of the intelligence agencies allowed for the timely revelation of the enemy's intentions and the implementation of appropriate measures. Information received indicated that Russia was preparing offensives in at least two directions, which ultimately did not take place.

"We became aware of the enemy's preparations and the development of a direct plan for conducting offensive actions in at least two directions, which did not occur during the second half of 2024 - early 2025," Skibitsky explained.

Currently, the main threat is concentrated in the Donetsk region, particularly around Pokrovsk, from where the occupiers could expand their offensive towards Dnipropetrovsk, Kramatorsk, and Sloviansk. At the same time, even after their plans were revealed, Russian troops continue to regroup and conduct combat training, indicating their intention to carry out these operations in the future.

"Even after the plans of the Russian Federation become known and they realize that they can no longer execute a particular operation - this does not mean that they abandon such an operation. They carry out regrouping, other preparatory measures, and troops begin to engage in combat training, specifically preparing to execute the plans that have been developed. Therefore, the exposure of the enemy's plans does not necessarily mean a complete abandonment of their implementation by the Russian Federation," Skibitsky noted.

The Situation in the Pokrovsk Direction

It is worth noting that the Pokrovsk direction is considered one of the "hottest" areas. As previously highlighted by the British Ministry of Defence, the Russians near Pokrovsk are focused on cutting off the logistics of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This focus has resulted in significant losses for the enemy.

Recently, it was reported that the Sicheslav paratroopers took control of the settlement of Kotlyne near Pokrovsk. The Armed Forces of Ukraine pushed the enemy beyond the village and prevented them from establishing a foothold.
