An earthquake has been recorded again near Poltava.

An earthquake occurred in Poltava region on the night of February 16. This is the second earthquake recorded in the region this month.

This information is reported by RBK-Ukraine citing data from the Main Center for Special Control.

The tremor was recorded around 00:48 on Sunday, February 16. The earthquake took place near the village of Brailky in the Poltava district.

Seismologists indicate that the earthquake had a magnitude of 3.1 (on the Richter scale) and occurred at a depth of 2 km. According to the classification of earthquakes, it is considered imperceptible.

As a reminder, on February 1, an underground tremor was recorded in Poltava region. Residents of Poltava reported on social media that the tremors were felt by those living on the upper floors.

Later, specialists from the Main Center for Special Control clarified that the earthquake occurred between Poltava and Reshetylivka at 18:21. The magnitude of the tremor was 3.67 on the Richter scale.

Additionally, on November 9, 2024, an earthquake was recorded in the Poltava region. It occurred near the village of Vasyky in the Poltava district. The tremor had a magnitude of 3.0 at a depth of 8 km.
