The Russian Federation aims to expedite its objectives in the Kursk region. The 76th Air Assault Division has been redeployed from the Zaporizhzhia region.
This information was shared with RBK-Ukraine by three informed sources.
According to the publication, the Russian counteroffensive in the Kursk region has prompted Moscow to slightly adjust its plans for an offensive in the Zaporizhzhia region, although it has not abandoned them.
Specifically, the sources for RBK-Ukraine assert that the start of the occupiers' operation in Zaporizhzhia was anticipated to occur roughly between October and December. Currently, our military predicts that the enemy may commence its offensive after December 5. However, it is important to note that this date should not be considered final, as Moscow has previously postponed the "D-Day" multiple times.
Sources speaking with RBK-Ukraine believe that Russia may strike in the Kamensky - Pyatihatki area of the Zaporizhzhia region to get as close as possible to the city of Zaporizhzhia, allowing them to shell the southern part of the regional center with artillery.
Earlier, we reported that the Russian army might be planning a large-scale offensive aimed at establishing control over Zaporizhzhia. In particular, the Russians have significantly increased airstrikes on the city.
It was later revealed that the Russian army has taken control of the village of Levadne in the Zaporizhzhia region. Subsequently, the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed the advance of the occupiers in that direction.
As stated by the representative of the Southern Defense Forces, Vladislav Voloshin, the Russians have concentrated about 200,000 troops in southern Ukraine, including occupation forces in Crimea.
